Florence (Bunny) M. Simon, of Brewster, NY died peacefully on November 19, 2024 at her home with her family by her side. She was 94.
Born on August 4, 1930 in Mt. Kisco, NY, daughter of the late Mary (Monczka) Martin and Paul Leo DeLaura. She graduated from Mt. Kisco High School. She worked at Reichhold Chemicals, Inc. in North White Plains until starting her family. She stayed at home and enjoyed taking care of her four children.
On December 12, 1957 Florence married the love of her life Maurice L. Simon. Following their wedding, they moved to Brewster, NY to raise their family. Her greatest passion was cooking for her family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She made everyone who knew her feel like they were part of her family. She was a longtime member of Temple Beth Elohim in Brewster, NY before they closed.
Mrs. Simon was predeceased by her loving husband Maurice. She is survived by her four children; Irene Simon, Susan Sniffen (M. Wayne), David Simon (Dawn) and Linda Burdick all of Brewster, NY, her 8 grandchildren; Rachael (Sheldon), Michael and Andrew Sniffen (Samantha), Cody, Dylan and Logan Simon, Zachary (Madison) and Taylor Mitchell Simon (Josh) and three great grandchildren; Dillon Weaver, Ryan Schrack, and Grayson Padelt. Her brother Paul DeLaura of Stoneridge, NY, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister Nellie Joan (Baby) O’Neil (George) and her son -in-law, Ralph (Joey) Burdick.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Milltown Rural Cemetery, Brewster, NY at 12:00PM. Calling hours will be at Beecher Funeral Home on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 4:30PM-8:30PM.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Florence may be made to the Northwell Health Hospice Care of Putnam and Westchester.
