Eva Jane Horst, age 90, of Massillon, Ohio, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, surrounded by family at her home in Massillon, following a period of declining health.

Eva Jane was born on October 9, 1934, in Blue Ball, Pennsylvania, to the late Samuel and Ella (Wenger) Martin and attended school in Pennsylvania and Virginia.  She married Leonard D. Horst on October 28, 1958, in Harrisonburg, VA. Leonard died on March 27, 2002.

She was a homemaker, a member of Oak Ridge Mennonite Church, and enjoyed quilting, baking, and hosting company.

Surviving are fifteen children, Rose (Clayton) Amstutz of Edinburgh, IN, Barry (Marilyn) Horst of Brooten, MN, Elwood (Wilda) Horst of North Lawrence, Betty Grace Horst of Massillon, Garneta (Olen) Steiner of Apple Creek, Janice (Charlen) Weaver of Bluford, IL, Doris (Brian) Nisly of Hutchinson, KS, David (Regina) Horst of Loma, CO, Dale (Gwen) Horst of North Lawrence, Gloria (Clayton ) Zimmerman of Wellsboro, PA, Myrna Horst of Seal Beach, CA, Joyce (Nevin) Good of Greentop, MO, Galen (Yolanda ) Horst of Coleman, MI, Lois (Wesley) Good of Bellville, and Curvin (Janelle) Horst of Massillon; 81 grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren; brother, Clark (Edna) Martin of Dayton, VA; and numerous  nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Leonard, she was preceded in death by her son, Samuel Ray Horst, sister; Joann Martin; grandchildren, Amber Dawn Horst and Trenton Bruce Horst; and a great grandchild, Tyrell Flint Horst.

Friends may call on Friday, November 22, 2024, at East Union Mennonite Church, 10678 Old Lincoln Way, Orrville, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, at East Union Mennonite Church, with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will take place at County Line Mennonite Cemetery in Dalton.
