Shawna Colleen Mitchell-Hoegh, 55, of Packwood, IA passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024, at her home. As were Shawna’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will begin at 11:00 a.m. on November 26th at the Cranston Family Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA with Pastor Craig Zuithoff officiating. Shawna Colleen Mitchell was born on January 19, 1969, to parents Skip Mitchell and Shay (Middleton) Mitchell in Portland, Oregon. She graduated High school from Goldendale High School in Goldendale, Washington. Shawna worked multiple jobs but finally found where she needed to be at Kobe Beef America, where she met the love of her life, Mark Hoegh, while doing business together and having many phone calls together.

Shawna's love for horses, a passion that started in her youth, blossomed into a triumphant career as an accomplished equestrian. Admired for her skilled riding, Shawna proved herself a formidable competitor, showcasing Arabians and Appaloosas, ultimately claiming ten world champion titles with her horse Davina. She shared this love for horses with her daughter, Tefna, and her granddaughter Ainsley. The joy in her eyes was unmistakable as she recently presented her granddaughter with a pony, lovingly named Peanut Butter.

Family was the core of Shawna's existence. As the heart of her family, she ensured they lived life to its fullest, always encouraging their passions. Shawna's magnetic personality extended beyond her family, as she often became a nurturing figure to her children's friends, earning her the affectionate title of a 'second mom’. Shawna’s door was always open to anyone in need and strived to make everyone feel welcome no matter the circumstance.

Shawna never missed an occasion for a celebration and was legendary for her spectacular parties. Even while confronting her health challenges, her servant’s heart shone brightly. She selflessly cared for family members, a testament to her resilience.

A woman of profound faith, Shawna rejoiced in her church community and was instrumental in guiding many to embrace their spiritual journeys alongside her.

Shawna Colleen Mitchell-Hoegh’s spirit, an embodiment of unconditional love and grace, will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
