Charles Ben Dean, age 93 of Dunlap passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Mattie Hennessee Dean, sister Shirley, brothers Jackie and Rev. Billy Dean, and great great granddaughter Lily Milhollin.
Survivors include his loving wife of 71 years, Cleo Blackwell Dean; daughters Tam (James) McLain, Bennie Dean, Karen (Donny) DeLong, Vickie (Keith) Youngblood, Kim Dean, and son Benson(Shawn) Dean, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; sisters Mary Beeler, Martha Miller, and Floy (Larry) Pierce. Several nieces and nephews.
Ben was a founding member of Way of the Cross Baptist Church, where he was a Trustee for over 50 years, during which time he also taught the adult Sunday School Class for several decades. His greatest joy in life was his service to our Lord Jesus, spending time with his family, and gardening.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Way of the Cross Baptist Church with Bro. Lanny Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Cemetery. Pallbearers are his grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Ewton Funeral Home & Cremation Center and Saturday from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Way of the Cross Baptist Church.
