Shafika Zaknoun, 73, Michigan City , Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 5:51 a.m. in her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 1725 E. Barker Ave, Michigan City, Indiana. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2024 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana and from 9:00 a.m. until time of mass on Saturday at the Queen of All Saints Legacy Center. The rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2024 at the funeral chapel.   

She was born on February 6, 1951, in Debel, Lebanon, to the late Eid and Malake (Zaknoun) Saeed. On August 10, 1964, in St. George Church, in Debel, Lebanon, she married Emtanos "Tony" Zaknoun, who preceded her in death on October 11, 2019.

Surviving are three daughters, Elham Hawa and Lillian (Youssef) Zaknoun both of Michigan City, Indiana, and Rita (Patrick) Mitchell of Plainfield, Indiana; four sons, Andraos (Nisrine) Zaknoun and John Zaknoun both of Michigan City, Indiana, Elie Zaknoun of Chicago, Illinois, and Fadi (Maria) Zaknoun of Michigan City, Indiana; two sisters, Zine Raii and Anisee Simaan; three brothers, Samir, Anise, and Rafeek Saeed; 19 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; eight siblings; and one grandson, Joseph Zaknoun. 

Shafika was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church and the St. Anthony's Maronite Aid Society - Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, watching television, and playing the card game, Bastra. She cherished the time she spent with family, but especially the time she spent with her grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her surviving family that was displaced by the war in Lebanon in her memory c/o Fadi Zaknoun.
