On Tuesday, November 19, 2024 our beloved Mae Lizzie Jones Richmond went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Liz as she was more commonly known, was born May 23, 1929 to Nettie Jones Gant.

Liz was a devoted lifelong member of Sweet Gum Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband Tom Preston Richmond and a brother Robert Jones.

She leaves loving and lasting memories to her precious daughter Denise Richmond Stewart, one brother Andy Jones as well as a host of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

God looked around His garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb,
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered "Peace be thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
