Frank D. Cuoco Jr. died peacefully on November 19, 2024 in Summit, NJ. He was 89 years old.
Frank was born on June 25, 1935, Bronx, NY, son to the late Ella and Frank D. Cuoco Sr. He was raised in the Bronx and later moved with his wife to Edison, NJ, where they raised their family. He spent the last 30 years living in Gillette, NJ.
He worked his entire career for one company, Garban Ltd, for approximately 43 years where he served as Executive Vice President. Garban is an interdealer brokerage firm that facilitated and executed trades on behalf of the world's largest financial institutions. He oversaw operations in New York City, Tokyo, and London in the US securities clearance.
Frank served on the GSCC (Government Securities Clearing Corporation) from 1988 to 1998. While employed by Garban, he worked to open a branch in Tokyo. They were the first to get a license to brokerage Yen, bonds, Repos, and US government securities. He was well respected by colleagues and the financial community.
He served in the U. S. Army from 1960 - 1964 and he was a huge patriot.
Frank's priority in life was his family and he was the centerpiece of the family. He loved being with his children and grandchildren and attending all their events and activities.
Frank also loved cars and enjoyed driving them. We estimate he owned over 50 cars in his lifetime.
Frank is survived by his spouse Elena R. Cuoco, his 2 daughters Elizabeth R. Rutigliano, and Elena R. Betines and her husband John M. Betines. He is also survived by his brother Anthony Cuoco, 5 grandchildren: Victoria Conlen, Benjamin Betines, Michael Rutigliano, Luke Betines and Vanessa Schmidt, and 3 great grandchildren: Dean Conlen, Riley Conlen, and Lucia Betines.
He was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul RC church in Stirling, NJ, prior to St. Helena’s RC church in Edison, NJ, and St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral in Metuchen, NJ.
Visitation will be Sunday November 24, 2024 from 1-4 PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Road, Gillette, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday November 25, 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Church of Christ the King New Vernon, NJ. Burial will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in Stirling, NJ.
