Paul Callahan, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and cherished member of the Foxboro community, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Born to the late Richard and Margaret Callahan, Paul was the devoted husband of Margaret (Peggy) Callahan. He was a proud brother to Richard Callahan and his wife, Marianne, and his twin sister, Alice Callahan.
Paul was the cherished father of Timothy Callahan and his wife, Amy, and Stephen Callahan and his wife, Courtney. He was the adored Papa to his grandchildren Allison, Joey, Brooke, and Avery Callahan, who brought immense joy to his life. Paul also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
A proud patriot, Paul served his country with distinction as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, earning a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his bravery. His military service remained a source of great pride throughout his life.
After retiring from the Army, Paul worked tirelessly for his community as an on-call and volunteer firefighter for the town of Foxboro. He also dedicated many years to the U.S. Postal Service in Brockton.
Paul was a man of many passions. An avid golfer and a long-standing member of the Foxboro Country Club, he spent countless happy days on the course. He had a green thumb and delighted in gardening, often sharing his homegrown tomatoes with friends and neighbors. Always ready to lend a hand, Paul was known for snow plowing driveways and helping the town during harsh New England winters.
Above all, Paul loved spending time with his family. His kind heart, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones and community will be deeply missed.
Services to Honor Paul’s Life
Family and friends are warmly invited to gather for a visitation on Friday, November 22nd, from 4–7 p.m. at Roberts & Sons Funeral Home in Foxboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Paul’s honor on Saturday, November 23rd, at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Foxboro. Following the service, Paul will be laid to rest with military honors at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
