Mrs. Clara Dantzler was born on January 25, 1947 to Ms. Carrie Rogers and Mr. Enoch Rogers. She peacefully departed her earthly life on November 19, 2024 at McLeod Hospital in Dillon, South Carolina.

Mrs. Dantzler attended Columbus High School in Lake View, South Carolina and later pursued a life and career in Brooklyn, New York. She became a member of People’s Institutional A.M.E. Church, serving on the usher board and sharing her love of cooking for church events. Her homemade sweet potato pies, yeast rolls and collard greens were enjoyed by many including neighbors, family and friends.

Mrs. Dantzler retired from the New York City Criminal Court System and after 42 years of building a life in New York City, she returned back home to Lake View, South Carolina with her granddaughter, Jendelle Vincent, to enjoy the fruits of her labor. She rejoined Union African Methodist Episcopal Church, becoming an usher and missionary. She also served as a member of the United Christian Sisterhood of Lake View, South Carolina.

Mrs. Dantzler was married to the late Randall Dantzler, Sr. She was the mother of four children: Mostiler Rogers (Lake View, SC), Tracy Rogers (Covington, GA), Erica Dantzler (Suffolk, VA) and the late Randall Dantzler, Jr.

She is preceded in death by her sisters: Luvenia Morant and Capitola (R.C.) McLain and two brothers: Elmore Rogers and Willie C. Rogers.

She leaves to cherish three children; two sisters: George Ella Wilson (Babylon, NY) and Sharon Floyd; two brothers: Lonnell (Arleen) Rogers (Babylon, NY) and Billy Kaye Johnson; an abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
