Mary Lou Benson Obituary

Mary Lou Benson passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024, at Bishop Drumm Retirement Community. She has finally gone to see her beloved parents, Mary and Andy Chicchelly, her brother Andrew, and her sister Delores Hott.


Mary Lou loved her family unconditionally and loved spoiling them with her famous spaghetti sauce and her special chocolate chip cookies. She loved the holidays with her family.


She worked at Burger King for 24 years and loved interacting with all of her customers, she loved working there. She retired to Frank Smith Place, where she loved to host her annual auction, where she shopped for a year to find unique items to share with all of her friends there. And she loved her bingo! She loved to go to the casino for her birthday every year.


She was known for being the kindest of hearts, and all of her friends loved her deeply, as did her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews.


She is survived by two of her children, Gary and Nancy. Her son Steve Benson was waiting for her in Heaven. Her grandchildren through Gary, Nicki Benson, Brianne Reilly (Pat), and her great-granddaughter Rylie , and Tyler Benson. Nancy's children: Casey Herriott (Phil), Savannah her great-granddaughter; Megan Waters, and John Fritzemeier and her great-granddaughter McKenna. Her nieces and nephews, Gina Clevenger (John), Lori Knoblach, David Hott, and Jim Hott.


Mary Lou’s family will greet friends Sunday, November 24th, from 5pm to 7pm with a Rosary at 7pm, at Westover Funeral Home, 6337 Hickman Road. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2926 Beaver Ave., Monday, November 25th at 10am. Interment will be held Wednesday, November 27th at 2pm at Glendale Cemetery.
