Cassandra L. Hall, 91, of Mt. Pleasant Township, died Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Brookdale Latrobe. She was born February 19, 1933 in Masontown, the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Caroline M. (Weaver) West. Sandy received her bachelor’s degree from Seton Hill College and her master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to retirement she was a reading specialist and taught english and reading in the Mount Pleasant Area School District having started at Hurst High School. She was proud to be the advisor for the junior high yearbook for many years. She was a member of Centerline Church (formerly Armbrust Wesleyan Church). Sandy had a passion for kids and for 15 years led a church youth ministry then later adult Sunday school classes. She and her husband traveled to all continents except Antarctica and they enjoyed mission trips to Africa. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Hall. She is survived by her son, Richard James Hall and wife Joan of Allegany, NY, her daughter, C. Carol Oravetz and husband Stephen of Ligonier, 2 grandchildren, Michelle Hall of Allegany, NY and Nathan Oravetz of Indiana, 2 great grandchildren, Oliver and Phoebe, her brother, Rev. C. Edward West and wife Phyllis of Daleville, VA and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity. Additional viewing will be held from 10 to 11 AM Friday in Centerline Church at which time funeral services will be held with Pastor Dan Mack officiating. Private interment in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Laughlintown.
