Steve Wexler Obituary

Stephen David Wexler, 77, of Statesville, passed away on November 18, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House.

Steve was born on December 9, 1946, to the late Henry Beck Wexler and Lila King Wexler.

He graduated from Cranberry High School in Cranberry, NC. He was employed by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and was also owner/operator of Wexler’s Trenching Service. He was a member of Banner Elk Presbyterian Church. He loved to fish and to garden.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Gail Sloan Wexler and brothers, Hal Wexler, Ben Wexler, and Jim Wexler.

Those left to cherish Steve’s memory are daughter, Stephanie Wexler of Caldwell County, NC; stepson, Richie Dishman of Melbourne, FL; mother-in-law, Betty Sloan; sisters-in-law, Teresa Sloan Brown (Rick) and Tracie Sloan West; numerous nieces and nephews, and special great niece, Larsyn Kurley.

The family will visit with friends and family from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Troutman Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain View Church Cemetery Fund, 438 Mountain View Road, Statesville, NC, 28625.
