Ann Cantwell 

It is with broken hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Ann Cantwell, at the age of 70 on November 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after a very long and courageous battle with cancer.
To say mom was a fighter was definitely an understatement. She fought with every ounce of her being and never once complained or gave up.
Born in Sydney Mines on December 20, 1953, mom was the daughter of John (Jack) & Maude Paquet.
A member of St Pius X Church, now Holy Family Parish.
Mom was happily married to her loving husband, Brian, for 51 years. She also leaves behind two daughters, Kim (Mike) Alberta and Cindy (Cory) Bras D’or, and her grandson, “Angel Boy” Devin (Toby), who was her pride and joy. Her siblings, Paula (Blaine), Debbie (Billy), Elaine(Stewart), Linda(Danny), Johnnie(Debbie), Sandy (Sharonann), Nancy (Dave), Jan, Jean (Raymond), Kenneth (Heather), Nicole (Danny) and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, John(Jack) and Maude Paquet, and brother Wayne. Also, her Mother and Father-in-Law, Con and May Cantwell, and sisters-in-law Gail, Gloria, and Joan.
From going to church on Saturday evenings with Dad, supper and a drive afterward, and playing weekly Romoli games with the girls, you couldn’t keep her down. Mom was my “Martha,” and I was her “Hildaguard,” a little nickname we gave each other at the start of her cancer journey. Despite the situation or if she was having a hard day, we would always try to keep things light, be positive, and have a laugh no matter what. We all made so many amazing memories with Mom the last few years that we will never forget.
Special thanks to Dr. McKeough & Louise, Dr. Pahil & Nurses at the cancer center, the palliative care team, Dr. Salah, and the nurses & staff at the Northside General Hospital. Her “Angels on Earth” on Taigh Solas & the 4th floor. Thank you all so much for the amazing care and support given to mom ❤️
Cremation has taken place. A funeral mass to celebrate Ann’s life will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 2 pm in Holy Family Parish, Sydney Mines, NS, with Fr. Fabian officiating. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
