Private Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 12:00 Noon in Lake Lawn Memorial Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard in New Orleans, for Mrs. Dorila F. Diaz del Valle, age 88, who passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at The Carpenter House-St. Joseph Hospice in Lafayette.

Entombment in Lake Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum with her beloved husband, Alfredo Diaz del Valle.

Survivors include her adoring children, Yvonne Opie (Jim), her son, Alfredo Diaz del Valle, Jr. (Sherry) and Liliana Sikaffy; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Alfredo Diaz del Valle; her parents, Lorenzo A. Fajardo and Marie Pineda Fajardo.

"LiLa" was a highly skilled and passionate artist, renowned for her exceptional talent in sewing and her ability to excel in various artistic endeavors. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was deeply loved by her family and cherished for her nurturing spirit. She enjoyed cooking in her leisure time. An avid football fan, she had a particular fondness for the New Orleans Saints, and her enthusiasm for the game was a defining characteristic of her vibrant personality. Her creativity, love for her family, and unwavering support for her passions will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
