Donald "Don" O'Neal Obituary

Donald "Don" O'Neal, aged 72, passed away on Monday November 18, 2024, in Williamston, North Carolina. Born and in Norfolk, Virginia but raised in Williamston, NC., Don spent his life engineering not only solutions at Weyerhaeuser but also perfecting his golf swing and cheering for his favorite football teams.

Don never lost his passion for sports. Whether it was debating the finer points of a football game or sinking an impressive putt, he tackled life with the same vigor as a fourth-quarter comeback.

He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Sybil G. Goddard, father Melvin R. O'Neal, daughter Pam, and a great-grandson, Greyson. Don is survived by a team of family and friends who will carry forward his legacy: his wife Cathy O'Neal, his son's Sammy and wife Christy, Daryl (and Ashley) brothers Mike (and Sheila), Marty (and Kathy), Jody (and Beverly), grandchildren Brittany, Tyler, DJ, Kelli, River, Cash, Liam, and Rylan, Hannah and Haley, and great-grandchildren Treydon, Autumn, Emmie, and Easton. As well as his beloved furry friend Yeti.

Don may have left the playing field, but his infectious spirit and love for sports live on in all who knew him. Rest easy, Don—your end zone dance was one for the ages.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Grace Family Fellowship Pentecostal Holiness Church, located at 24093 NC-903, Robersonville, NC. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM.
