James Moore, Jr., 95 of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center. Mr. Moore was a native of North Carolina and the oldest of three children to the late James Moore, Sr. and Eva Coggins Moore. He retired from the United States Air Force and went on to work and retire from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs Police at the Lake City VA Hospital. Mr. Moore was of the Baptist faith and previously attended Southside Baptist Church. He loved riding his motorcycle, reading and watching westerns. Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents; and two wives, Mary Moore and Ida Monds Moore.
Survivors include his daughters, Pat Reynolds, Duncan, South Carolina, Claudia Parsons (Vernon), Lake City and Melinda Griffith (Larry Bland), Pinetta, FL; one brother, Dallas Moore (Beverly), Eustis, FL; one sister, Ida Lee Remmington, Lake City; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
A time of visitation with the family will be Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A graveside service will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
