Donald L. Plank, Sr. 85, of Gettysburg, PA passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the York Hospital. Born January 28, 1939 in Arendtsville, PA he was the son of the late Cletus & Gladys (Virgin) Plank. Donald was predeceased by his wife, Shirley A. Plank, who died January 5, 2020. For over fifty years Donald was a long haul truck driver until his retirement in 2010. He was a member of the Gettysburg Church of The Brethren. Donald enjoyed fishing, playing cards, trips to the casino to try his luck and visits to the Gettysburg Eagles. He is survived by his five children, Donald L. Plank, Jr. of Hanover, PA, Donna K. Peters of Farmville, VA, Ella M. Plank of Gettysburg, PA, Sue Champlain of Gettysburg and Roger L. Plank of Fairfield, PA, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, seven siblings, Stanley, Cletus, Glenn, Linda, Carol, Virginia and Joanne, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Gary Plank. A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, November 22, 2024 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA. Interment will follow the service in the Evergreen Cemetery. A Viewing will be held on Friday at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.
