Judith C. Carranza

85, longtime resident of Chicago’s Southside-Clearing neighborhood, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024. Beloved daughter of the late Frederick J. Koffend and the late Eleanore A. (Borlick); devoted mother of Nick (Eva) Carranza and Aaron Carranza; cherished grandmother of Aiden and Zoe Carranza; dearest sister of the late James Koffend and late Dorothy Koffend. The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank-You to Judith’s caregiver Zofia for the superb support, love, and safe keeping of their mother.


Judith enjoyed her occasional trips to the casinos, playing board games with her family, and watching Dancing with the Stars. Most of all Judith cherished time spent with her sons and grandchildren. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed and never forgotten.


Funeral services will be private for her family. Arrangements entrusted to Central Chapel, Chicago. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you tip your wait staff a little extra this weekend as an honor to Judy's waitressing days.
