Jerry Howard Wallace Obituary

Jerry Howard Wallace, age 88, went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2024 at his home in Bristol, TN. He was born on November 15, 1936 in Pocahontas, VA to the late Howard and Dorothy McFarlane Wallace. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Wallace. Jerry grew up in Southwest, VA and was proud to serve his country as a member of the United States Army, deployed to Korea in 1955.

Loving husband, father and grandfather, Jerry was married to his devoted wife Margie for almost 59 years. After retiring from Allstate in 2000, he loved to work on new projects around their home that he helped to build over 50 years ago. He and Margie enjoyed traveling and took many trips with her sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Roy Odum, exploring new places, hiking and enjoying the outdoors. And always willing to lend a hand, he volunteered with Meals on Wheels, The Salvation Army and TN Avenue Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member.

Jerry spent his life making a difference in the lives of others and was a blessing to all who knew him. He will long be remembered for his caring and generous spirit and sense of humor.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Margie Wallace, daughter, Jenny Wallace, son, Wade Wallace, grandchildren, Will and Ava Wallace, and several special sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Friday, November 22, 2024 at Weaver Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 6:00 pm, Friday in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Thompson officiating.

The graveside service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, November 23, 2024 in their family cemetery, McKinney Cemetery in Bristol, TN.

Pallbearers will be Joe Cox, Buck Buchanan, Lance Bailey, Greg Forgey, Pete Wallace, Mark Campbell and Doug Fleenor. Honorary pallbearers are Roy Odum, Doug Buchanan, Stanley Mann, Bob Cox, and John Wesley Cox.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to TN Ave Baptist Church 104 Cypress St, Bristol, TN 37620.
