James Wilbur Kinne Obituary

James Wilbur "Jim" Kinne, passed away November 19, 2024 at the age of 99. He was born on May 9, 1925 to the late Wilbur and Ruth (nee Tensing) Kinne. Jim was a proud United States Veteran, serving during World War II. After his service to his country, Jim worked as a teacher and administrator for Cincinnati Public Schools and retired as a Professor Emeritus of Construction Technology at Northern Kentucky University. He was a proud member of the Carpenters Union and Kolping Society.


Survivors include his beloved wife of 74 years, Ruth V. (nee Schuehler) Kinne; loving children: Tim (Cathy) Kinne, Dennis (Linda) Kinne, and Linda (John) Stock; 12 grandchildren: Debbie Jackson, Brian (Shannon) Kinne, Kevin (Angie) Kinne, Jeff (Devon) Kinne, Phillip (Lori) Kinne, Michelle (Tyler) Menke, David (Fiona) Kinne, Luke (Lia) Kinne, Mark (Lauren) Kinne, Chris (Jill) Stock, Renee (Andrew) Warren, and Jenny Stock; 32 great-grandchildren; and his brother in law: Jerry (the late Lois) Schuehler. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his half brothers and sister: the late John Kinne, Bob Kinne, Donald Kinne, Tom Kinne, and Rosemary Wilson.


Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 8:30 AM until time of the funeral mass at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Visitation Church, 3172 South Road, Cincinnati, OH 45248. Burial will follow at St. Joseph New Cemetery, where military honors will be presented. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul/ OLV Chapter, 3172 South Road, Cincinnati, OH 45248.
