Mary Ida Byers Obituary
Mary Ida Byers, 100, formerly of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at her home in Marion, Indiana. She was born August 6, 1924 in Pueblo, Colorado to the late Ilma (Stone) and Arthur Day.
Mary was a dental assistant and worked for a dental practice in Boonville for many years. She also worked for several county offices and for the Boonville Standard. Mary was an active member of First Baptist Church in Boonville where she enjoyed working with children. She was also a Girl Scout Troop Leader.
She is survived by her daughters, Rita Bowling and Melissa Lyon; grandson, Timothy (Michelle) Bowling; and great grandchild, Griffin Bowling.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Byers; brother, Rex Day; and son-in-law, Jay Lyon.
Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel is handling her arrangements. Private service and entombment will be at Park Lawn Cemetery in Evansville, Indiana.
