STOKESDALE - Elaine Pegram Smith, 81, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Moses Cone Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday November 19, 2024 at Oak Level Baptist Church. The family will receive friends and family beginning at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.

Elaine was born on December 2, 1942 in Guilford County to the late Paul and Mozelle Pegram. Elaine was a beloved member of her community and an active member of Oak Level Baptist Church. She never missed a chance to collect money for their sporting events, showing her dedication and love for her church family.

Elaine had a passion for working puzzles and always enjoyed sharing jokes with those around her. She was a people person who loved bringing smiles to others' faces. A proud graduate of Stokesdale High School, Class of 1961 and Elaine cherished her school memories and friendships.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dennis E. Smith, Jr.; father of her children, Dennis E Smith, Sr.; siblings, Magdalene Stewart (Charlie), Alvin Pegram (Marylene), Nancy Isley, Marvin Pegram; and brother-in-law, Lynn Smith.

Survivors include her children, Dawn Perry (Richard), Daniel Smith; grandchildren, Chris Perry (Brittany), Joseph Perry (Aja), Jessica Fischer (Kevin); great-grandchildren, Cooper, Levi, Asher, Isla, Harper, Hudson, Maximus, Gianna; daughter-in-law, Debbie Smith; siblings, Judy Smith, Micky Pegram (Elaine); brother-in-law, Ray Isley; sister-in-law, Shirley Pegram; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
