It is with deep sadness that the family of Joe Proulx announces his passing on November 15, 2024. Joe will be greatly missed by his wife Betty (Dubey) of 46 years. He will be dearly remembered by their children, Jessica (Jason) Gruszynski and Shawn (Jenna) Proulx, and his cherished grandchildren: Ava and Aiden Gruszynski and Graham Proulx. Joe was born on February 8, 1954, to Joe and Barbara (Ellison) Proulx. He graduated from Pinconning High School in 1972 and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged and returned home to begin a long and fulfilling career with Century Link telephone company. Outside of work, Joe was passionate about the outdoors and enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, golfing, bowling, and ice fishing. He was a man who cherished time with family and friends.
Joe is survived by his siblings: Greg Proulx, Ron (Crystal) Proulx, Cindy (Mark) Genow, and Jean (Bill) Creedon. He also leaves behind his extended family, including in-laws Janice & Roy Piotrowski, Mike Backus, Marlene Gaiser, Joyce & Ben Conklin, Joe & Delphine Dubey, Gayle & Robert Lardie, Leanne Balcueva, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe & Barbara Proulx; his father- and mother-in-law, Vernon & Edith Dubey; sister-in-law, Karen Backus; brothers-in-law, Harry Gaiser and Ernie Balcueva; and niece, Roxanne Piotrowski. The family extends special thanks to the dedicated caregivers at Brittany Manor Living Center in Midland, MI, for their exceptional care and kindness. Visitation will be held at Rivertown Funeral Home, Kawkawlin, MI, on Thursday, November 21st, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A 7:00 P.M. service will follow, conducted by Father Matthew Federico.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Rivertown Funeral Home, Kawkawlin, MI at 7:00 pm with Rev. Fr. Matthew Federico presiding. Family and friends may visit the funeral home on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 3:00pm - 7:00pm.
