Cecil Holtz

It is with great sadness that the family of Cecil Holtz, 87, life long resident of South Williamsport, announces that She passed away Friday, April 15, 2016 at 6:00 p.m., at the Loyalsock Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Montoursville, surrounded by her loving family and the amazing staff of Haywood Hall, and with Jama, from Hospice. Cecil wou;ld like to let you know her work here is done. She received the best offer a person could ever ask for. She went to have her reunion with family and friends whom she has not seen in years. She was a homebody at heart, but her greatest love was her family. She was the most amazing Mom, with her quick wit and wooden spoon, which by the way, she never used. As a wife, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and neighbor, she was the best that anyone could have or ask for. She had a deep passion for reading, and over the years, has lead her to read thousands of books which had taken her hundreds of places. She left us knowing that she had fulfilled an exceptional life. She will be truly missed. Born May 14, 1928 at Williamsport Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Emma A. Rote Kelly. Cecil attended the South Williamsport Schools and had worked for 10 years for the former Ray-O=Vac Battery Company of South Williamsport. She met the love of her life, Edward L. Holtz, and they were united in marriage on December 16, 1960. Edward preceded her in death on May 14, 2010. Together they shared 49 years of marriage. Cecil is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Holly and Jeff Young, and Lori and Jeff Mahaffey, South Williamsport; grandchildren Kristin and Barrett Fornwald of Bloomsburg, Wade and Kimber Young, South Williamsport, two great grandchildren; Chase and Lena Fornwald of Bloomsburg and also many nieces and nephews and great and great grand nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her late husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Linwood, Paul, and Eugene Kelly and her sisters, Mildred and Lela Kelly, and her grandson, Curtis J. Young. Every one who remembers her is asked to celebrate Ceciuls life in their own way. Raising a glass of their favorite beverage in her honor would have made her smile. In keeping with Cecils wishes, there will be no visitation and the funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.Interment will be in West Wildwood cemetery, Williamsport. THe family respectfully declines to receive floral tributes and respectfully suggests that contributions in her memory, may be made, if so desired to Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Charles M. Noll Funeral Home, 1 East Central Avenue, South Williamsport, PA. 17702 www.charlesmnollfuneralhome.com
