Helena loved her family and liked having them come to her house for coffee often. She made the best apple pie, rhubarb pie and whole wheat bread loaf like no one else can. She played her Autoharp since she was very young and was really good at it. She loved to sing and had many favorite hymns. Her most favorite was “Im Glauben seh ich Jesum Sterben”. She loved going shopping often with er 2 daughters and 1 niece. She loved going to antique stores. She loved purses. Just a year ago she asked her girls to get her a new purse, just in case they would take her shopping to Lubbock lol. Helena loved reading different books, but the Bible was very important to her, she read it every day. She enjoyed telling us about what she had read that day. When her eye eyesight failed her, she was very upset, therefore her daughters have read a lot to her. She requested a Plautdietsche Bible and asked that they would read out of it. She was blessed to have a clear mind till the end of her journey. Her health declined over the years and when time came that she had to live in a nursing home. 6 weeks ago, she was hospitalized with multiple infections in her body, after that she hasn’t recovered. She passed away peacefully with 3 of her children by her side, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 5:52 pm. She will be missed dearly by all her family and many friends. “Helena was a strong praying mom. She Loved her Lord and Savior!
