Ms. Gloria D. Sligh Chapman was born in Newberry, South Carolina to the late Thomas "Tuck" Sligh and the late Rosa Lee Gibson Sligh.  She passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC.

Ms. Chapman attended St. Mark A. M. E. Church in Pomaria, South Carolina.  She was a graduate of Newberry High School.  Ms. Chapman retired from Louis Rich and was currently working as a caregiver in  home healthcare .

Ms. Chapman is survived by her children, Ebony Sligh Davis, Gail Denise Sligh and Darryl Chairman Chapman all of Newberry, SC; sister, Linda Sligh of District Heights, MD; aunt, Mildred Bailey of Maryland; grandchildren, Tekeyia Sligh, Isis Gary, Mantrevis Sligh, Jamarion Sligh; great-grandchildren, K'amarri Sims, Keshawn Sims, Aniyah Williams, Amir Carter; step-daughter, Brianna Jacobs; step-grandchildren, Londyn Jacobs, Rylan Jacobs; companion, Thomas Sims, God-daughter, Kimbalee Baker, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Seekwell Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
