Dolores Rose Hotstream Schroeder Obituary

Dolores Rose Hotstream Schroeder, born in New Orleans on November 3, 1941, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday November 9, 2024 after an extended courageous battle with a number of medical issues.  Beloved wife of Robert C. Schroeder for 60 years.  Loving mother of Rhonda S. Gonzales (Jack), Robert C. Schroeder, Jr. (Lori), Kristen S. Dobson (Mark), and Tricia S. Barker (Heath).  Proud grandmother of Amy Gonzales, Emily Gonzales, Austin Schroeder, Katherine Schroeder, Taylor Dobson, Mason Dobson, Samuel Barker, and Lorelei Barker. 

She is survived by her sisters Mary Ann Hotstream and Deborah H. Delaune (Robert), her brother Ronald J. Hotstream, her in-laws Diane G. Hotstream, Edwin M. Schroeder (Marietta), and David R. Schroeder (Fay).  She is also survived by a large number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Dolores was preceded in death by her father Gustave Olaf Hotstream, her mother Rita Spizale Hotstream and her brother Gustave Olaf Hotstream, Jr.  Dolores was a parishioner of St. Louis King of France and formerly of St. Angela Merici.  Her profession was that of a loving mother and grandmother.  After her own children were raised, she devoted her time to assist in caring for her eight grandchildren, who have a span in age of 19 years.  They affectionately referred to her as Dee Dee.  She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Knights of Columbus Ludovicum Council 4663 and enjoyed accompanying Rob at Knights of Columbus functions, baking cakes and cookies for spaghetti dinners, and spending time with dear friends.  Dolores’s family acknowledges the care given to her by doctors and staff of EJGH, LSU Healthcare Network, Lakeview Physical Therapy and Spine, CVS Pharmacy, and the compassionate staff in the ED and ICU at EJGH.  Relatives and friends are invited to join her family in attending her funeral service at Jacob Schoen & Son, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans, LA. on Saturday November 16, 2024.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to noon with a Rosary at 11:15 AM and Mass at noon.  Interment will follow at St. Roch Cemetery #1, 1725 St. Roch Ave, New Orleans, LA.
