Soto – Nancy “Bunnie” Soto, age 65, of Middleburg, Florida passed away on November 10, 2024, at Haven Hospice Custead Care Center with her loving family by her side. She was born in Bronx, New York on August 7, 1959, to the late Israel Ortiz and Primitiva Cortez. Bunnie was raised in New York, relocated to Pennsylvania as a young adult, and made Florida her home in 1994. Bunnie was passionate about her family and especially loved being a homemaker. She had an eye for design which helped her decorate and create a home that was both elegant and welcoming. Bunnie a woman of many talents, especially when it came to arts and crafts. She had a remarkable gift with her hands and a passion for making floral arrangements, painting, and creating beautiful handmade items. Bunnie found great joy in expressing her creativity and often shared her homemade treasures with family and friends. She spent a few years working at the Coach Warehouse and also Jani King Agency, but her favorite and most desirable position was being a mother and grandmother. She cherished her family and loved spending precious time with them. Bunnie also enjoyed attending church at Icmet Penetcostal Mi Refugio in Jacksonville where she worshipped her Lord and Savior and built many relationships with her church family. Bunnie’s legacy of love, compassion, and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Judy Castro and Elizabeth Castro; and brother, Roberto “Raul” Ortiz.


Bunnie is survived by her loving children, Tabitha Soto of Jacksonville, FL, Jenifer Soto of Orlando, FL, Jacklyn Soto and Angela Soto both of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Frankie Ortiz of Bronx, NY and John (Sandra) Ortiz of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Miriam (Enrique) Colon and Rachel (Henry) Fajardo both of Jacksonville, FL, Ruth Lind of Savannah, GA, and Annette (James) Trinidad of Ft. Pierce, FL; grandchildren, Precious Huertas, Elijah Wilson, Izreal Wilson, Amaria Soto, Gabriella Soto, Massiah Mixson, Ava Mixson, Bella Mixson, Kimberly Green, Journee Parker; great granddaughters, Nova Tutson and Trinity Tutson; longtime companion, Steven Beverly of Jacksonville, FL; along with several extended family members and friends.


A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Beaches Memorial Park Chapel. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Beaches Memorial Park. The arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
