Rebecca Elizabeth Bequette, age 93, of Pevely, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 11, 2024 at Hillcrest Care Center in DeSoto, Missouri. She was born July 19, 1931 in Washington County, Missouri, the daughter of the late Sadie (nee Portell) and Thomas Boyer.

She is survived by her daughter Susan (Jerry R.) Sumrow of DeSoto; grandchildren Angela (JR) Crafton and Jerry (Amanda) Sumrow, Jr.; and great-grandchildren Michael Crafton, Elizabeth Crafton, Jerry Sumrow III, and Emma Sumrow.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Matt R. “Popeye” Bequette; son Ronald Kenneth Bequette; sister Rachael (the late Gene) Emily; and an infant brother Thomas Williams.

She was a member of the former Assumption Catholic Church in Herculaneum, Missouri and was a present member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, Missouri, had worked many years for the City of Herculaneum Public Library. She loved playing cards, Bingo, and going to the casinos.

Visitation Sunday, November 17, 2024 from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home in Pevely. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 18, 2024 at Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, officiated by Fr. Stephen Lian. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery in Herculaneum. Memorials in her memory are preferred to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
