Howard V. “Pappey” McLaughlin, 98, tragically went to be with the Lord October 14, 2024 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 19, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Virgil F. and Cleo (Swan) McLaughlin. He attended school in Fort Recovery, Ohio and later moved to Muncie.
Howard was a United States Navy veteran, serving in World War II, and retired from Delco Battery after 45 years of service.
Mr. McLaughlin enjoyed playing Euchre at the Forest Park Senior Center, and really loved his fur kid, Skeeter.
He is survived by two daughters; four stepchildren; and a grandson, Robert King.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carolyn McLaughlin; and a stepson.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 16, 2024 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, from 11:00 am until service time at Noon.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Military Rites conducted by the U.S. Navy and Delaware County Veteran’s Honor Guard. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
