Maxwell Hayward Burry passed away suddenly at the age of 77 on the 11th of November, 2024, at Oram's Baywatch Manor in Glovertown.
He is predeceased by his parents Walter and Ena Burry; brother Chesley; sisters Edith (Edward), Lillian, and Brenda.
Leaving to mourn his passing are his children Kirk, Tammy, Mark, and Janelle; sisters Daphne, Bernice (Bob), Valerie (Nick); brothers Walter (Lorraine), Stewart (May), Mervin (Sharon); and a large circle of family and friends.
Max was born and raised in Greenspond Bonavista Bay. Like most other outports then you went to work at an early age. As a young man, Max was involved in the seal fishery. He moved to the Northern Peninsula and got married and started a family. There were two children from that relationship: Kirk and Tammy. After a number of years, he returned to Glovertown where his parents and siblings had relocated. There he began a new relationship and had two more children: Mark & Janelle. Max was a handyman. He could do plumbing, painting, and carpentry, and much more. He served as a member of the local Lions Club for a number of years. His children were his pride and joy and he spoke of them often. He was an avid hockey fan and enjoyed talking about the game with his buddies at the home. He will be dearly missed by a large circle of family and friends.
Thanks to Oram's Funeral Home, Flo and Smithie Rowsell, Lieutenant Eli Drodge.
