Mary Ann Mason, age 76, of Camden, NC, died November 11, 2024, at home. Born in Pasquotank County, she was the daughter of the late Hilton Thomas Mason, Sr. and Evelyn Mayo Mason. Mary Ann was an artist, art teacher, gardener, tennis player, dancer, avid traveler, and, above all, a friend and inspiration to many. She was always up for an adventure, whether it be a road trip down I-95 or flying to a foreign country. She worked hard and played hard, usually falling asleep sitting up after a full day. Her positivity and spirit were a beacon to all who knew her, even as she battled cancer.
Mary Ann is survived by two sons, Robert John Breiner, III of Moyock, NC and James Edward Romm, III of Elizabeth City, NC; a daughter, Allison Breiner Potter (Mark) of Wilmington, NC; and two grandchildren, Kevin Breiner of Washington, DC and Grace Breiner of Bilbao, Spain. She is also survived by three brothers, Hilton Thomas Mason, Jr., and wife, Dorothy, of Titusville, FL, William David Mason and wife, Patricia, of Moyock, NC, and James Anthony Mason, of Elizabeth City, NC.
