Charles Westbrook Obituary

On October 26, 1930, Charles Westbrook was born to Rodgers Westbrook and Luetter Westbrook in Hickman, Kentucky.

Charles accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savoir in 1975 and attended St. Peters Church faithfully for many years. He served as a dedicated member and was honored as a deacon emeritus.

Charles went to West Kentucky Community and Technical College from 1953-1955, and graduated with a degree in Auto Mechanic. He was drafted and served in the Korean War from 1951-1953.

Charles moved his family to Chicago in 1957 and was employed at Charlie/Reed Transmission in Evanston, IL for 25 years. He became the owner of Charlie’s Transmission in 1972 before turning his business over to his son. He trained all of his sons in automechanic.

Charles met the love of his life, Helen Westbrook in Paducah. They were married and moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1957, where they remained for the rest of their life. They were married for 63 years.

On October 31, 2024, Charles went to be with the Lord. In Heaven, he will join his wife, Helen Westbrook; son, Craig Westbrook; mother and father, Rodgers and Luetter Westbrook; siblings, Doretha, Cleve Rodgers, Talmus, Robert, Flora, Lomey, and Larry.

Charles leaves to cherish his loving memory, his children, Kenneth, Gail, Marilyn, Byron, Gerald (Jackie), Jeffery, and Terri; brother, Troy (Bertha); a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.
