She was a native of Buncombe county, and the daughter of the late Lee and Juanita Greene.  Creola graduated from Enka High School in 1964, and then went on to attend Mars Hill University.

She loved playing the piano in churches since she was 12 years old.  She enjoyed teaching music at Venable Elementary until she retired.  She played the piano at different churches, but played at Mount Home Baptist Church until her passing and she loved every second of it.

She had four grandchildren, Dale Metheny (Mandolyn) of Fletcher, and Cortney Chipps (Josh) of Boiling Springs.
