Harry T. Monska of Carver, formerly of Plymouth, died peacefully on January 28th with his family by his side. He is the loving husband of 56 years to Dana (Bumpus) Monska. Harry is the devoted father of Todd L. Monska and his wife Abigail and Jeffrey T. Monska and his wife Robyn, all of Plymouth. He is the cherished grandfather of Jeffrey T. Monska, Jr. and Jillian M. Monska and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is the beloved uncle of the late Brian Malone. Harry is the brother of Gloria Malone and the late William Monska, of Decatur, Illinois. Born in Decatur, Illinois on May 6th, 1939, Harry is the son of the late Gustav and Bessie (Bledsaw) Monska. Educated in Decatur, Illinois, he went on to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1962. Harry worked in the shoe industry for several years, and later opened Cap'n Harry's Deli and Sandwich Shop on the waterfront in Plymouth. Those who knew Harry will remember he always had an inappropriate joke under his breath accompanied by a lift of his eyebrows and a giggle. Visiting hours will be held in the Cartmell Funeral Home 150 Court St. Plymouth on February 6th from 4:00 7:00 pm. A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday February 7th in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
