Robert Hugh Mordica, Sr., 89, of Hattiesburg, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Forrest General Hospital. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 A Sacred Heart Catholic Church followed by a Rosary at 2 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2:30 p.m. followed by interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Mr. Mordica was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and Pearl River Community College. He was a basketball player for both schools and his love for the game continued as he went on to referee high school and college basketball for many years. Mr. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army and in the United States Army National Guard, where he retired after 35+ years. He was very active in the VFW Post 3036 and volunteered for them whenever they needed him. He worked as a Real Estate Broker for over 65 years and owned University Realty, where he continued to work up until his death. Mr. Mordica was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend; he will be missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Von Kyle Mordica; his parents, George and Frances Mordica; 3 brothers; and 6 sisters.
He is survived by his children, Kim Cargill (David) of Hattiesburg, Robert Mordica, Jr. of Hattiesburg, Stacey Farlow (Tony) of Purvis, Nicole Brady of Pascagoula; his grandchildren, Jason Cargill, Justin Cargill, Collin Cargill (Ashley), Danny Bové Mordica, Tatum Farlow, Brady Farlow (Peyton), Holden Brady, and McKennah Boyd (Jackson); his great grandchildren, Mia Cargill, Macayla Cargill, and Addison Cargill; his beloved dog, Cody; and a host of nieces and nephews.
