Mrs. Olga M. (Guido) DiVittorio, 96, of New Paltz NY and formerly of Milford MA died Thursday (October 31, 2024) after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late John DiVittorio Jr., who died in 2005. 

Olga was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late Vincenzo Guido and the late Albina (Flora) Guido. She attended Milford public schools and was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1945.

Olga first assisted her late husband John in the operation of the family owned home heating oil company, DiVittorio Oil Company. She later worked as a cafeteria worker in the Milford public school system. Following that she became employed at the Valpey Fisher Corporation and was actually involved in the development of the MX Missile.

Olga had been a resident of New Paltz NY since 2016 and prior to that had resided in Falmouth MA since 1986. She grew up in Milford MA and had spent most of her life residing in Milford MA.

While residing in Falmouth MA she became one of the first female members of the Falmouth Elks Lodge and was also a member of the Lodge’s Emblem Club. She was also a past-member of the St. Anthony’s Couples Club.

Olga is survived by her daughter: Diane Strauss and her husband Arnold “Sandy” Strauss of New Paltz NY; her 2 granddaughters: Stephanie Strauss and her partner Gregory Libby II of Aspen CO and Samantha Boatwright and her husband Bret Boatwright of New York City NY; her sister: Mary Basile of Framingham MA; also many nieces & nephews

Olga was the sister of the late Nicholas Guido; the late Mossimino Guido; the late Guerino “Goody” Guido; the late Celia Romanovich; the late Eugene Guido; the late Josephine Pasqualoni; the late Elizabeth Alberta; the late Alma Cimino and the late Jeanne Fitzgibbons.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday (November 6th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford. A visiting hour will be held Wednesday (November 6th) from 8:30am to 9:30am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, prior to her Funeral Mass.
