Bob "Pup" Price Obituary

Bob "Pup" Price, 65, of Robinson, IL, passed away on October 30, 2024, at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN, leaving a legacy of laughter, generosity, and unforgettable antics.

Born on April 12, 1959, in Mount Carmel, IL, to the late Donald S. and Marilyn S. (Friend) Price, Pup was a character from the start. Graduating with the Robinson High School Class of 1977, he made sure no one forgot him-always the prankster, always quick with a joke, and always someone you could count on. Pup worked construction and Hershey jobs early on but found his calling with the Palestine Water Commission, where he dedicated over 40 years to keeping the water running and the community thriving. He also lent his expertise to the Eaton Water District, solidifying his reputation as the guy who'd do anything for anyone.

It was Pup's big heart that shone brightest. He never met a stranger and had a knack for helping people without fanfare. Whether delivering surprise bags of fresh garden vegetables on a friend's doorstep (earning him the nickname "The Wind") or sliding in a witty remark that had everyone laughing, he made life a little sweeter and a lot more fun.

Bob married his perfect match, Missy (Shull) Price, on September 1, 2000. Together, they built a life full of laughter, love, and a shared sense of humor that kept them both on their toes. Remodeling their cabin south of Robinson became an ongoing adventure, as the project was full of negotiation and compromise, but the joy they found in it was a testament to their partnership, built on humor, love, and a little bit of teasing.

Pup was a devoted dad to his daughter Liz, who cherished the ways her dad made her feel loved, whether surprising her with Rural King popcorn or a Vanilla Pepsi from the gas station. They bonded over video games like Plants vs. Zombies, swapped jokes about Angry Birds, and shared a mutual appreciation for Post Malone. It was these small moments that made their relationship so special, and the memories of his thoughtful surprises will forever be treasured.

Bob loved simple pleasures: riding horses when he was younger, taking his side-by-side out for spins as he got older, and waging legendary mowing wars with his neighbor. A die-hard Cardinals fan, he took special delight in razzing Cubs supporters. He was active in the Elks Lodge and Sons of the American Legion, but his real community was made up of friends who knew him for his good humor, kind spirit, and mischievous ways. Missy learned early on that loving Pup meant bracing for endless teasing-and loving every minute of it.

For Pup, life was a party, and he made sure to live it that way. He knew how to light up a room, and his quiet moments were just as meaningful, like when he'd catch everyone off-guard with a perfectly placed joke. Whether he was elbow-deep in corn shucking or sneaking out to plant another "zinger" in conversation, Bob "Pup" Price lived fully, loved deeply, and left the world a happier place. He leaves behind stories, laughter, and friendships that will keep his spirit alive in all of us. We will miss you, Pup, but we'll never forget you.

He is survived by his loving wife, Missy; his daughter, Liz; his brother & sister-in-law, Dr. Charles D. "Chuck" Price & Ubon "A" Suanjaroen of Robinson; his sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Gina & Kevin Heggie of Flat Rock; and an untold number of friends who will forever feel the loss of his joyful spirit.

Per Bob's wishes, he will be cremated, and no public service will be held. Arrangements are being handled by Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson.
