Cheryl L. Betters, 61, of Powers, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Hospital of natural causes.
She was born on June 9, 1963 in Escanaba, daughter to George J. and Sharonlee M. (Kraczek) Klee. Cheryl was raised in Wilson and graduated from Bark River-Harris High School in 1981.
On April 8, 1989, Cheryl married Scott R. Betters at the Carney Evangelical Free Church. They shared 35 wonderful years of marriage and cherished their daughters, Nicole and Natily. She loved her years of staying home and raising her girls during their school years. Being involved with school activities and helping in any way she could was always a priority for her.
Before starting a family, Cheryl worked at Robinson Furniture for several years early in their marriage. When she returned to the work, she made wreaths for Betters Evergreens and then was employed for Family Dollar until she had to retire in 2017 for health reasons.
Cheryl enjoyed crocheting, sewing, baking, making wreaths, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved the outdoors, either fishing or hunting with her husband, Scott.
She is survived by her husband, Scott of Powers; daughters, Nicole (David) Klein of Quinnesec and Natily Betters of Menominee; three grandchildren, Jenevieve, Kayleen, and Sawyer Klein; sisters, Donna Otradovec, Marilyn Bouffiou, and Barb (Randy) Poupore; aunt, Pat (Tony) Ouradnik; many loving in-laws; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her grandparents and parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Larry Belanger, Todd Bouffiou, and Bob Otradovec.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
