Henry "Petie" Franklin Campbell, III Obituary

Henry F. "Petie" Campbell, III, 58, of Strasburg, VA, departed his earthly home to enter his eternal kingdom on October 30, 2024.

Petie was born in Winchester, VA on December 23, 1965, a son of Loretta Rutz Stickles Campbell and the late Henry “Pete” Campbell, Jr.  As a self-proclaimed "Mayor of Strasburg" you could find Petie singing karaoke at the American Legion on random Friday nights. As a "Rutz" Petie had a true passion for music and dancing. He was known to shake a leg or two, sometimes putting on a rather "wild" show. Petie worked many years at Shen-Paco and had a passion for being a volunteer at the Salvation Army thrift store in Winchester, VA. This world was so beautiful and such a better place with him in it. Petie has left a void that will never be filled. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by brothers Norval Stickles, Jr, Paul Stickles, Richard Stickles, and only sister June Stickles Andrews.

Petie is survived by his mother Loretta Rutz Stickles Campbell of Strasburg, brother Thomas Stickles of Maryland, special niece Wendy Andrews, special nephew Cory Pittington. Petie leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, fur buddies Rudy and Bobo and a ton of friends as he never met a stranger. He also leaves behind his special gal KK Stroop.

A funeral service for Petie will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Stover Funeral Home with Rev. David Howard officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home and Crematory on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Cory Pittington, Andy Andrews, Trevor Andrews, Jarrett Hargrove, Logan Korte and Rebecca Stickles. Honorary pallbearer will be KK Stroop, Richard Stickles, and Willie Hillyard.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the staff at Lynn Care of Front Royal, VA for taking such good care of Petie and loving him as their own. Go rest high on that mountain as your job on Earth is done.

You may sign the guestbook and submit condolences to the family online at www.stoverfuneralhome.com.
