Robert D. Pitner Obituary

Robert Pitner, 80, of Flushing, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. He was born on December 30, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Andrew Steve and Sylvia Blanche (Krousl) Pitner Sr.

Bob graduated from Barnesville High School in 1962 and after school was enlisted in the United States Army as a Medic during Vietnam. Bob retired from General Motors in Lordestown, Ohio and then became an over the road truck driver for 12 years. He loved fishing, scenic drives in the country on a beautiful day. He loved politics and reading his newspaper.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William "Billy" Pitner, Dennis (Rose) Pitner, Andrew S. "Andy" Pitner, Jr., and Jerry Lane Pitner; and sister, Ramona Wilson.

Robert is survived by his wife of 27 years and lifelong love of 43 years, Tina M. (Vargo) Pitner; daughter, Beth Ann Pitner; son, Robert J. Pitner and David Pitner; four grandchildren, Ashton Pitner, Brandon Sanor, Cassandra Beach, Troy Pryor; and several great-grandchildren; brother, Larry (Cindy) Pitner of Salem; and sister, Cynthia Evans of Salem; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no services held at this time. Care is entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.

 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
