Alvin Gene Bowman, 69, of Riceville, passed away, Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at his home.

He was a native of Decatur, TN and longtime resident of McMinn County and was a son of the late Enloe and Mattie Stokes Bowman. He was also preceded in death by brothers Clyde Bowman, B.T. Bowman, Marvin Bowman, Tony Bowman, Burl Bowman, Jurl Lovelace, Earl Bowman, and sister Bobbie Embrey.

He was associated with Bendix in Cleveland, TN until his retirement.

Alvin is survived by his wife, Dana Bowman; sisters, Patty Jo Waller, Mary Farmer, Linda (Johnny) Lamb, Peggy Bowman, brother, Allen (Janice) Bowman; mother-in-law, Margaret Trent; brothers-in-law, Ralph Trent, Brad Trent; and sister-in-law, Debbie Trent.

A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm, Friday, November 1, 2024 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Bernard officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
