STAUNTON – Elizabeth Joan “Betty” (McNutt) Waybright, 83, of Staunton, passed away Thursday (October 30, 2024) at Friendship Retirement Community, Roanoke.
Born September 20, 1941 in Middletown, Conn., she was the daughter of the late Margaret Marie (Bravence) Augeri and Willard Marvin McNutt.
Betty was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Staunton where she enjoyed singing in the choir and participating in activities with her Sunday school class and in the life of the church. Calvary was her special family and home. She also enjoyed babysitting children in her community.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Waybright. Surviving are a son, Kenneth J. Waybright and wife Jana of Roanoke; grandson Devin Whittaker; granddaughter Katrina McNeely; cousins Walter McCabe and Rhonda Halverson; great-granddaughter Prudence McNeely; and long-time, devoted friend James Mullenax.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November 4 in Calvary Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Bobby Campbell. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends in the church on Monday, one hour prior to the service.
