Our mother was a kind, loving, and giving person. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and grace. Our mother was a source of security and comfort to us all, and she will be remembered and missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Growing up, Marissa was always there for us, when we needed help with homework or just a shoulder to cry on. She was a young mother that embraced all the challenges that come with raising a family. She instilled in us the importance of family values, hard work, and doing what is right. Our mother was a true role model who we will always look up to.
Marissa was preceded in death by her mother, Nora Garcia Lopez; grandfather, Juan Garza and Uncle Hector Garcia.
Marissa is survived by her grandmother, Maria (GrandMa Glasses); father, Raul Lopez; siblings, Edward Garcia, Raul (Jr.) and wife, Adriana, their 4 children, Eric Lopez and
wife, Brittni Rose, their 6 children; and sister, Erika Lopez and husband, Jose Portillo, their 7 ½ children (number 8 on the way); uncle, Juan (Johnny) Garcia; aunts, Sally Garcia, Yolanda (Yolie) Garcia and several cousins.
