Caterina Insinga, 91, beloved wife, mother, and nonna, was called home by the Lord on October 30, 2024. Born in Mezzojuso, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Gaetana Tavolacci.
Caterina was the heart of her home and family. Alongside her husband, Carmelo Insinga, she raised three children and celebrated 60 years of marriage this past September. Caterina devoted her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren, and she will be remembered for her kindness, gentle nature, beautiful smile, and love for all around her.
She is survived by her husband, Carmelo; her son, Lucio; and her daughters, Iva Profaci (Dominick) and Dana Musacchia (Leo). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Giancarlo Insinga (Courtney), Michael Insinga, Dominick Profaci (Morgan), Daniel Profaci (Kayla), Olivia Profaci Brown (Nicholas), Joanna, Leo, Ava, and Isabella Musacchia. She also cherished her great-grandchildren, Margot Profaci and Briella Insinga.
Caterina is remembered by her brother, Anthony Tavolacci; her nephew, Joe LoPiccolo; and her nieces, Grace Profaci. She was predeceased by her sister, Angela Sciortino; her brother, Nicola Tavolacci; and sisters-in-law, Provvidenza Nacri and Teodora LoPiccolo.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, November 1st, at Copeland-Hammerl, 162 S. Putt Corners Road, New Paltz, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2nd, at St. Charles Borromeo in Gardiner.
Entombment will follow at Cedar Hill Mausoleum in Newburgh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
