Josepha "Pinky" Melanson
WATERBURY- Mrs. Josepha “Pinky” (Moran) Melanson, 83, of Waterbury, devoted wife of the late Donald Melanson Sr., passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter in Bristol.
Born in Waterbury on January 10, 1941, Josepha was the daughter of the late James and Josepha (Sutton) Moran. Josepha was formerly employed with Hayden Switch, Timex, Lux Time-Robert Shaw, Johnson & Johnson Medical and Anco Tool.
Pinky enjoyed playing bingo with friends. She spent her life caring for others, especially her family and always put others before herself. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Leo The Great / Mary Mother of the Church Parish.
Left to cherish her memory and carry on her loving legacy are her four children Debra Lee Roberts, Donald Melanson Jr. and his wife Susan, Lisa Graca and her husband Joao, Carolann Melanson, her three grandsons, Kevin Melanson, Matthew Melanson and his wife Danielle, Steven Melanson and his partner Jocelyn, two great granddaughters Briana Oppedisano, Callie Melanson, several generations of nieces and nephews including great nieces Meghan Bennett and her husband Mike, Hannah Ouellette, Lizzy Pawlak and her husband Colin, her great great niece Caroline Bennett, her nephew “other son” Charlie Lacombe and her sister-in-law Elaine Florio. She is also survived by her loving sister and partner in crime Carolyn Lacombe. They enjoyed shopping, laughing, coffee and spent time at the Lake house and Florida.
In addition to her husband and parents Josepha was predeceased by her two brothers James and Brian Moran.
Josepha’s family would like to thank the Nursing staff at Trinity Health of New England Hospice nurses Ameila, Tammy, Julie, Erica and her aide Karen for making their mom comfortable during her last weeks.
