Grace Elizabeth Varghese, of Cranston, died on September 5, 2024 at the age of 85.  She passed peacefully in her home, receiving hospice care for esophageal cancer.  

Born in Calicut, India, Grace immigrated to the United States in 1964 and moved to Rhode Island in 1971.  She was a medical librarian at Eleanor Slater Hospital for 25 years, receiving her master’s degree in library sciences from the University of Rhode Island. Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Puthukkeril K. Varghese MD.  She is survived by her two sons, Reuben Varghese MD and Paul Varghese MD.  

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday November 1, 2024 at 11:00am in The Church of the Ascension 390 Pontiac Avenue Cranston where Grace was a member for 50 years. A reception will immediately follow in Geisser Hall of the church.  Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery Providence.
