Mrs. Olga Carlyse Chambers had her homecoming on October 30th2024 after a brief illness. She was the only daughter of Flora Elizabeth and Floyd Ellen Walden of Holland Va.
She had her formal education in the Nansemond County school system and later attended Virginia State College in Petersburg Va. She worked in the medical records department of Whitaker Memorial Hospital in Newport News Va.
Mrs. Chambers mothered four children – a daughter ( Wanda Delores Boulknight ), and three sons ( Dr. Dwight K. Carson, Forrest Andre Parker, and Troy Anson Chambers )
She is also survived by two granddaughter, Shayla C. Redding, and Ilea J. Carson, and three grandsons- Wynston , A.J. Parker and Troyce Chambers and two great grandsons – Trevon Redding and Jayden Redding.
Olga Carlyse was an avid card player, dancer, and model. She ended her runway performances at age 80yrs. She was also a member of the social group called “ Classy Ladies. “
Carlyse was baptized at Mount Sinai Baptist church as a teenager and continued her religious service at First Baptist Wickham Avenue and was a member of the Triumph Christian Center of Newport News Va.
All along the way she gathered friends and admirers . Everyone that meet her knew of her kindness and love for life. To have known her was to love her.
It is the desire of the Chambers family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
