Lance Vincent Desnoyer, beloved son of Louise and Gerry Desnoyer, was born in Prince Albert on July 28, 1981. His first few years were spent in Prince Albert before the family moved to Lloydminster. Lance attended and graduated from high school at Holy Rosary in 1999.
During high school Lance began working at Nelson Lumber and after high school he started working on oil rigs in the area. He quickly fell in love with this life and began working farther and farther away from home. His journeys in the oil field took him to places like Abu Dhabi, where the team of drillers he managed set world records for the longest ERD well in the United Arab Emirates at that time. He also spent time working in Mexico, Australia, parts of the Middle East and Indonesia where he made many lifelong friends and contacts.
In the midst of all this, Lance found time to vacation, train to be an MMA fighter, and have three wonderful children that were his pride and joy. As well as parenting his own, Lance played an important and loving role as step-dad to his partners children.
As of late, Lance began training individuals to work on oil rigs. Sharing his experiences, dreams and knowledge gave Lance the change he needed to be back home and have more time with family.
On October 14, 2024 Lance left this world and his family and friends behind suddenly and unexpectedly.
Left to mourn Lance are his three children, Cashus, Gage and Maya. Cashus and Gage’s mom, Shawna Edwards. Maya’s mom, Stacey Olsen and her children Brooklyn and Zander. His extended family, Onyx and Lexus and their mom, Julene Phillips and Cayden and his mom, Jacqueline Rivard. His parents Louise and Gerry Desnoyer and many family members and friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Marjorie and Dougal Byers.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on November 2, 2024 from 2 until 4pm at Centennial Civic Center at 5405 49th Avenue Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. Please join us to celebrate Lance and share in his memory.
Lance will be laid to rest at a later date in Prince Albert at Memorial Gardens with his Grandmother.
