Kathryn Anne Thompson, 50, of Lake Toxaway, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after a brief but valiant battle with cancer.
Born on August 27, 1974, and raised in Plantation, Florida, Kathryn graduated in 1992 from Spanish River High School in Boca Raton, FL, and New England Tech in 1995. She was a resolute professional, working as a CADD Designer and in website design and marketing for the family business, Thompson Youngross Engineers, where her creativity and technical skills thrived. In addition to her work in engineering, Kathryn was a talented photographer known for her stunning landscape and concert photography, capturing the beauty of the world around her. Recently, Kathryn reestablished herself in North Carolina, where she pursued her passion for real estate as a broker with Landmark Realty in Cashiers. Her warmth and expertise shone through in every interaction, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
Kathryn's spirit was as vibrant as her photographs, and she will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love for her friends and family. She leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of beauty in both her art and relationships.
Kathryn is survived by her loving family: parents Anne and Daniel Thompson; brother Matthew and sister-in-law Laurie; brother Michael; sister-in-law Katie; and nephews Austin and Aiden Thompson, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
A funeral mass will be on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. The family welcomes you to join them at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brevard (150 Brian Berg Lane). In lieu of flowers, Kathryn's family asks that donations to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of your choosing be made.
